In recent months, there has been a great deal of attention focused on Dr. Vodder Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD), a therapeutic treatment successfully used in Europe for over 60 years to treat a number of different pathologies.
Dr. Vodder’s Manual Lymph Drainage is a gentle non-invasive therapeutic technique that is effective in the reduction of swelling, as well as helping to speed the healing process after facial, cosmetic, reconstructive, and liposuction procedures. MLD reduces edema and hematomas that can occur as a result of these procedures. MLD calms the redness after laser procedures and various peels including glycolic acid peels and dermabrasion.
MLD is effective in the treatment of burns and scar formation. Used as a pre-and post-operative procedure, MLD helps to remove congestion, accelerate the healing process, and minimize scar formation. As a result, many Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgeons recognize the benefits of having their patients receive MLD as soon as possible after surgery. Some patients are seen 24 hours after their procedure with a doctor’s release.
Patients can expect a reduction in swelling, reduction in pain, increased comfort as well as an accelerated healing of bruises. Therapeutic benefits of MLD include reduction of edema, pain, a relaxation response of the nervous system, and an apparent enhancement of immune function. As an Internationally trained and Certified Therapist of MLD, I would be available to answer any questions you or your doctor might have about the benefits of this therapeutic treatment.
